BALOCHISTAN:
Following is the
update of relief activities in Balochistan carried out by SPO Turbat
and Naseerabad:
SPO Turbat
- In collaboration with Church World Service (CWS), SPO
distributed 250 food packages in the villages Pathan-e-Kahoor
and Bindak and 235 food and non food items were distributed in
village Tanzag in union council Gokdan
- Received 4 trucks of food and non food items from Save the
Children-UK (SC-UK) and 1 from CWS on July 13
- Received 7 trucks of food items from SC-UK and CWS on July
14
- SPO participated in a meeting of medical, water and
sanitation cluster at the office of Executive District Officer
Health. Frontier Corps’ doctor was also present in that meeting.
It was decided that two cholera centers be established. One in
union council Kalatuk and the other in union council Naseerabad
with the help of MSF Belgium, Oxfam, WHO and the Health
Department
- Information regarding floods was provided to Pakistan
Institute of Medical Association
- Data of different union councils was also shared with Muslim
Aid
- SPO team members facilitated SC-UK team during its visit to
Zarrainbug and did rapid assessment in Jan Mohammad Bazar
- SPO arranged a meeting between SC-UK and National Commission
for Human Development (NCHD) to share information regarding
education of union councils Koshkalat and Pidrak
- Planning was done for the distribution of food items and
hygiene kits in union council Koshkalat in collaboration with
SC-UK
SPO Naseerabad
- Medical aid was provided to victims of two union councils.
319 patients were treated in union council Kohna Tambu and 283
in Garhi Rehman. These included women and children suffering
from fever, diarrhea, skin infections, malaria and sunstroke
- For distribution of shelters and non food items, field team
conducted assessment in 64 villages of union council Garhi
Rehman and Kohna Tambu. During these visits, 573 families were
interviewed and information was gathered. Among these, 20
families were headed by widows
- Meetings with officials of District Flood Control Unit,
UNICEF and NCHD were held and they were briefed about the relief
activities
SPO Sibi
- Food items, clothes and tents were distributed among the
affectees of villages Killi Dinnar and AllahAbad in District
Bolan
SINDH:
Following is the update of relief activities
carried out by SPO Hyderabad:
SPO Hyderabad
- Standard per unit cost for the construction of houses was
submitted to CWS along with photos for District Thatta
- A proposal for food and medical aid was submitted to UNICEF
and Japan Emergency NGO for Qamber-Shahdadkot
SPO Karachi
- Save the Children-UK provided 26 trucks of food packages for
2,000 families (one month food) of Turbat. All procurement and
transportation arrangements were made by SPO Karachi
- SPO Karachi facilitated an assessment visit of Japan
Platform for Damage Assessment of Karachi coastal area
